COMMONSENSECARRY.ORG is an effort by the Utah Shooting Sports Council and other pro-gun organizations to get the state of Utah to adopt a law that will allow people to carry concealed firearms with or without a permit.

The Utah Shooting Sports Council

The Utah Shooting Sports Council (USSC) is a grassroots, all volunteer organization dedicated to the advancement of Second Amendment rights in Utah.  We are managed by a seven person board of directors elected by the membership.

Statement of Purpose and Principles of the Utah Shooting Sports Council

Our Purpose

USSC is a non-profit coalition organization of individuals and groups dedicated to the preservation, protection and defense of the individual right of all Utahns to keep and bear their private arms for security and defense of self, family, others, property, the state, and all other lawful purposes.

Our Principles

To accomplish our stated purpose, USSC shall be guided by the following principles in the establishment of its programs, policies, and procedures.

USSC is committed to the principle of supporting the fundamental human, constitutional and civil rights of every individual, without regard to race, gender, ethnic or national origin, religion, political affiliation, age, physical disability, or other status. On these fundamental human, constitutional and civil rights, there can and will be no compromise.

USSC is committed to the principle of creating and maintaining the maximum level of opportunity for the broadest range of involvement and participation in the shooting sports by the widest audience in our state.

USSC is committed to the principle of not supporting and, further, specifically rejecting the initiation of force or violence against persons, organizations or institutions to further our purpose and interests and achieve our goals.
